We could not be happier with our selection of Doug Fitch as our musician at our wedding at Turtle Bay. He is talented, entertaining and self sufficient and a good value. Our only complaint is that, as a busy bride and groom, we didn't get to enjoy his entire performance like our guests did due to time constraints! Our guests raved about his performance and were glad he helped give us a very special day!

Dear Doug,
It was an honor and a pleasure having you entertain both Scott and I at our November 11, 2011 wedding. You are truly amazing and the dancers, Noco and Naco, added an extra special touch while dancing at Queen Emma's Summer Palace.
With Love and Aloha,
Joyce and Scott Martin
The musical entertainment Doug provided during our Open House Reception at Kailua Wellness Center & Acupuncture Clinic was a wonderful blend of mellow, easy listening music and lively, interactive music.
Doug is skilled not only as a musician but as an entertainer, easily engaging the audience and providing a good excuse to smile and dance a little......or not. Mahalo Doug!

P.S. I've been listening to your CD in my car. Awesome!
Doug Fitch did a fantastic job playing for our recent wedding ceremony and reception. He beautifully played all of the songs we requested and his singing and playing provided just the right atmosphere for our evening of celebration. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about his performance throughout the night. Doug was a pleasure to work with and a true professional, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a musician for their special event. Mahalo!

Hi Doug,
I just wanted to send a quick note, to say a HUGE thank you for playing at our ceremony. You are truly a very talented musician, our guest raved about you!Thank you for the cd also, it will forever remind us of our magical wedding in Oahu.
Again, thank you.
Kindest regards,
Jade & Mykel
Doug,
My husband and I got married on Dec., 8, 2008 and you performed at our reception at the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant. You did an amazing job!
I just wanted to extend an extended thanks. Ever since that trip to Hawaii (my third, Justin's first), Hawaii has played an increasingly large role in our household. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is still my favorite musician, and we listen to him frequently. In the car, however, we have your CD playing in our car's stereo on repeat - sometimes I think it's the only thing that helps us maintain our sanity during the crazy commute! We look forward to playing your CD in our nursery once we eventually have kids. It's just really great, beautiful music, and we love it.
We're definitely attempting to make visits to the islands a regular part of our life. Perhaps more special is that we're returning to the islands for our two-year anniversary. Hawaii's very much an important part of our lives, and I very much thank you for sharing your portion of it with us – it's with us daily.
Mahalo nui loa.
Best,
Kirsten Laufer
My husband and I hired Doug Fitch to perform throughout our wedding ceremony and reception and he was one of the best choices we made. We had a very small wedding - less than 30 guests - and we wanted a musician to perform live in order to maintain the intimate feel of the event. Doug had already worked at our venue, so there were no logistical kinks to work out, and the venue coordinator raved about him when she heard that we'd hired him.
Since ours was a destination wedding, we had to find all of our vendors online. We found Doug's website and thought it was very professional. He has samples of his music there, and you can also see videos of him performing on YouTube. This was like a long-distance interview. My husband spoke to him on the phone and thought he sounded like a fun guy, so we hired him! After doing so, we ordered his CD from Amazon and listened to the full versions of his songs in order to choose which ones we wanted to be featured during the ceremony. He played everything exactly like we asked and did a terrific job fading the music in and out of the ceremony at the appropriate times. After the ceremony, he kind of serenaded us with a new wedding song he's working on. It was beautiful and had very sweet lyrics which would be great for a wedding.
Our guests praised Doug's performance during and for months after the wedding. His music has the perfect combination of energy and tranquility, so as he played throughout the reception, the mood was upbeat, but not at all intrusive. (That goes for the songs with and without vocals.) Finally, Doug was easy to work with. He was on time, knew our plans in advance, and his presence really enhanced our wedding. He even stayed after his "shift" and hung out with our photographers for a while, which I thought was very cool.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of and making our wedding day a special day. Our guests including all our friends and family kept commenting on your music and the beautiful grace of Noco. As a local girl, returning to the Islands, I knew in my heart I chose the right song "Kawaipunahele" by Keali'i Reichel as my processional song. You played it so beautifully, it brought tears to my eyes!
Mahalo nui loa from Christian and I to both you and Noco.
Aloha,
Christiaan and Lori Bassig
Your music is absolutely beautiful and we smile when we think of Kirsten's reception at the Kaimana Beach Hotel. George and I returned for a week in the summer and we will all go to Maui in December. Thanks for the wonderful memories. Every time we listen to your music it brings those perfect moments back.

To Hawaiian music fans and couples planning your wedding;
I heartily endorse Doug Fitch and Noco Ku'uleinani after the
successful entertainment of our wedding, January 2010 in
Honolulu. Here is some of the story about how it went off so
well.
First, before any music was even discussed, Doug was saving us
money by presenting the discount card (Romance) which was great
for getting discounts on several of our wedding related
services. A few hundred dollars was saved.
I always prefer live music, so I was looking for someone who
could entertain and change gears: during the course of our
evening, Doug played many roles and many styles of music. He
was in the background when he needed to be, and we had great
song choices for that. At other times, he was more in the
spotlight when he was directing our hula group dance or playing
a request. He has the ability to amp up the sound or go
completely acoustic depending on the conditions, which helped
us a lot over the course of the 4 hours of our event.
He has his own CD of original tunes, and he made it available
to us early on, and we liked it from the beginning. It's very
upbeat with good messages so we knew some of those songs too
could fit in with our wedding themes. There are a large number
of excellent Hawaiian guitar slack key songs that he can play,
and also some rock, folk, and other popular music. He let us
select a lot of the songs from his list. And helped when we
didn't know what would go well in each part of our timeline.
The array of guitars on display when he set up surprised me,
but it shows the level of skill he has attained. Playing slack
key is an impressive accomplishment to begin with, but add to
that the other guitars and the ukulele, and it's a great
variety - and all of them went well.
And not only could he play guitar, he was a very good
entertainer. This is a key distinction. His vocals, attitude,
and knowledge added a lot to our event, and I think this is a
rare combination in a single person. One example coming to
mind was our "Hukilau" group hula. Only an insider with
personal experience in Hawaiian culture could have a chance to
pull it off that well - we had our whole guest party joining
Noco and us in this hula about fish and the sea.
Noco was also great in her performances, and leading by example
for the youngsters, and the number of adults from America and
from Japan - all were able to follow her lead and enjoy it. My
bride and I also had to take a private lesson from Noco and
this went very well. We quickly went into the steps and she
kept it very simple so we could learn it quickly. She was
friendly and available, so it was so nice to work with her
during the busy few days before our wedding. She was also able
to teach a couple of dances to 2 cute young girls who performed
a keiki hula for our guests. Noco also knows the Hawaiian
culture well which was important for our fun time.
All in all, the time went by very fast and it was a lot of fun.
We'll be looking for more of Doug's albums or concerts when
we're in Hawaii again. And we hope to take more hula lessons
from Noco when we can too. We didn't take video of the music
and hula that night, which is kind of unfortunate because we'd
like to enjoy them some more.
Best wishes,
Leo and Nami
We were so glad Doug could perform at our wedding. He was so nice and great to work with. He was able to accommodate all of our song requests and he even was able to change instruments in the middle of the ceremony to accommodate my request to walk down the isle to the ukulele!! He played so beautifully and he really helped to make our ceremony special.
Thanks Doug!
- Joel and Heidi Fitzwater
Everyone really enjoyed your performance and talent and we are so appreciative! Please use me as a reference anytime as I would have nothing but wonderful things to say!

Hi Doug,
Once again I would like to thank you
so much for playing at our wedding! There were alot of compliments mentioned to us from our guests about the music being beautiful and amazing and it made the day that much more special!
- Jennifer Baillargeon (Schmidt)
Doug Fitch donated his time and talents to our fund-raising concert at Don Ho's Island Grill in March 2009. Those of us old enough to remember the great Hawaiian slack-key artists of the past were thrilled to hear this music so beautifully performed again. Some of us fell reverently silent; others got "chicken skin" as the years seemed to melt away.
The younger people who originally came to hear rock bands play were impressed with Doug's skill and presence. They have had few opportunities to experience such mastery of slack-key and were in awe of Doug's professionalism.
It was a treat for all of us. We are deeply appreciative of Doug's generosity in helping with our mission in Peru.

Doug and Noco,
What can I say, but wow! What a marvelous time to have you there at
our
anniversary ball. The hula was very beautiful and the music was
great. You
truly added to our celebration with your talents.
Thanks again for the CD, we are listening to it as I am typing. My
RP has
already commented on how beautiful you play and sing.
Thanks again for everything.
Blessings,
Fred Holcombe
We've seen Doug perform all over the place, and just knew that our guests would
appreciate a great mix of live music, from folk to country to Hawaiian slack key.
He is the consummate entertainer, and is amazing as both the "main event" and
as pleasant background music. His talent and passion shine through in every
song.

Doug,
I wanted to say "thank you" for performing at our wedding last month. We were truly, truly honored to have you perform, and your musicality was the perfect touch for our reception-it helped make the reception both Hawaiian and very tropical in nature. THANK YOU!
In particular, many thanks for spending a great deal of time with our own resident musicians and for playing Iz's "Over the Rainbow" as our wedding song. It's my favorite song and ever since we got engaged, I knew I wanted it as our wedding song. Your rendition of it was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to get back my friends' video of the ceremony so that I can watch/listen to our first dance.
Thank you dearly for all of your help. Many thanks for being the perfect guitarist at our reception. We loved your music and would highly recommend you to anyone.
Mahalo,
Justin and Kirsten Laufer
Dear Doug,
Bryan and I would like to thank you for the absolutely beautiful job you did at our wedding in November!! You came highly recommended by my wedding coordinator so, we knew you'd be great but we didn't know how kind and thoughtful you would be. And on top of all that we could tell how much you love what you do. The fact that making music makes you happy added so much more to our special day and for that we will be forever grateful.
Best regards,
Bryan and Maggie Mermilliod
Thank you again for playing at our wedding! What an amazing
musician you are. We couldn't have asked for a better song
selection and ambiance you provided for our special day, not to
mention the choice for when I walked down the isle! You knew
exactly what to play and exactly what we wanted, yet our wedding
was the very first time meeting one another. You are a truly
remarkable musician. As you continued to play during our cocktail
reception and as we visited with family and friends, hearing your
voice and guitar provided the type of atmosphere we hoped to
have. We heard nothing but wonderful comments from our guests
about your music. They wanted you to continue all night! Can we
do it all over again?!

the Hawaii Foodbank. I am glad we were able to introduce you at
the Perry and Price radio show. Saturday's audience was quite
impressed as well!

I just want to extend my thanks and gratitude to you for
participating in Magic at Mission Houses. We had over 700 people
in attendance and there were rave reviews from many. This is the
best event we have had and it would not have been possible
without your help. Your song selection was perfect. It was nice to
hear some Folk, Bluegrass, and Hawaiian and you blended it so
well. Your music added to the festivity of this event. Best to you
and I look forward to working together again in the future.

Doug,
My wife and I would like to express our gratitude for your fine
musical performance at our son's wedding reception. My guests
were pleasantly surprised to hear you play Hawaiian slack key
songs that were written and sung by some of our Hawai`i's finest
talents such as Gabby…etc. Your music made dinner a delight and
brought a special touch and ambiance to the party. My son and his
new bride gave rave reviews about your entertainment, and also
stated your performance complemented the white-table-cloth and
candle-light setting of their reception. Again, I would like to thank
you for making our celebration a success. I highly recommend you.

Dear Doug,
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed
your performance for our lumber convention on Saturday, May 19th.
You had a great variety of music, ranging from Hawaiian traditional,
country/western, folk, to slack key & originals.
You are a very accomplished professional musician and I would
enthusiastically recommend your talents for any performance.
As a musician myself, I noticed how well you bonded with the
audience for their pleasure.
Please allow this as a letter of recommendation.
